Sewing!

The sewing machine has been getting some use lately, what with Easter bags, cushions and some projects from Cath Kidston's Sew book. Take a look at my Sewing page and Easter page to see the latest projects including my first attempt at a fabric flower!
I've still a week off work yet with the Mini Makers so no doubt i'll have even more to show by the end of it :)

The Easter Bunny is Coming.....

Well,  The suns been shining (i'm ignoring yesterday's snow and putting it down to Mother N having a bad day!) and all the blossom and flowers are out so it must be Spring :)
The Mini-Makers love to make Easter themed items, whether it's decorating eggs or making cards and with the school holidays here they have been busy little bees!
Best of all it's a time to give gifts which means i've been busy too :) Not to mention tryng to resist temptation of all the yummy chocolate we've been recieving!

I've also had a go at knitting, i'm pretty naff at it really as it hurts my hands and today i have sore fingers booo :(
Anyway check out my Easter page for a peek at what we've been up to!

So tonight I had a likkle nosey through Mr PoppyToms laptop and it seems he has a few of my handmade pics....not all but it's a start and gave me something to update with.
So go, take a browse :)

Kirstie's Handmade Britain

Kirstie Allsopp is one of my favourite designers / presenters. I love her taste in homewear and have enjoyed all her TV shows. I wasn't surprised to learn she was related to Cath Kidston either. Anyway i am enjoying her new show and so far have pretty much fancied a go at all her crafts there has only been a few i have tried. Unfortunately most them involve alot of cost for materials but one i noticed that is pretty much free was newspaper models.

So i have set about having a go.....first attempt was a bird (like on the show) and i have since done a Giraffe. The Mini makers loved the look of it and also have had a go with Master maker's wonderful lizard and Little Lady's, well, shall we just say she hasn't got the hang of it yet and patience has been limited so up to now she has just made....a mess! :)

Anyway, here was my first attempt (doesn't look this lumpy in real life i might add!)

(think i need more practice!)
