Sewing

I was first taught to use a sewing machine at the age of 12 by my Auntie Ann.
She is great on a machine and made all her own curtains and accessories. With her help i managed to make a few co-ordinating tissue box covers and cushions for my room.
Anyway, roll on 16 years and i decided to give sewing another go, so i bought a machine and set about making a few things.
Now my sewing is far from perfect but i have come across some fantastic tutorials on the Internet that even i can follow!

Big up the Blighty Cushion!

I've made quite a few simple envelope style cushions over the years but i thought i'd attempt something a bit trickier this time.....only a bit mind!
So here we have a fab fabric 'framed' in red with a red background and my very first fabric flower :) What do you think?

Projects from Cath Kidston's Sew Book

There are lots of lovely projects in this book, i have already made the bag but decided to try something simple so i made the Mini Makers some initialed items for the bedroom doors based on the lavender bags project. Mine are filled with toy stuffing instead.

Kindle Cover

The lucky girl that i am received my Christmas present a little early this year, my first ever Kindle!
I must say, i am loving it!
After popping it in my handbag on the first day i instantly knew there was something missing....a cover.
So i set about making one, made it up as i went along and used one of Little Lady's bobbles and a couple of buttons as a fastener.
The material is... Cath Kidston....of course! :)

Latest Sewing Project - First Attempt at a Door stop.

I made this as a house warming gift for my In-Laws who have just had the most amazing house built!
